Career and Technical Education at IEC
As we replicate the PTech model, Inwood students are offered Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses through their initial four years. Currently, Inwood offers students a New York State approved Information Technology (IT) and Computer Science (CS) program. The programs consist of seven required courses as a part of the sequence, with an additional Career and Financial Management (CFM) course required by New York State (NYS). Students Who complete the IT program will earn a total of eight elective credits towards their NYS high school diploma. Students enrolled in the CTE course and sequence are encouraged to take part in all Work-Based Learning (WBL) activities offered sooner than later. These activities will include but are not limited to Internships:
- Career Days
- Career Mentoring
- Guest Speaker
- Interviews
- Job Shadowing
- Workplace Challenges
- Work Experience
- Workplace Tours
For a listing of all up-coming CTE/WBL related events, make sure to check your e-mail daily and/or Jupiter.
